• Apr 10 2012: I'm pleased to announce that, starting from today, I'm joining the Smart Systems group within GE Global Research, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a Computational Intelligence Researcher.
   
• Mar 30 2012: From August 1st 2011 up to this date, I worked as a Researcher at the Nokia Institute of Technology (INdT), in Manaus, Brazil.
   
• Dec 24 2011: I'm in the Program Committee of the LION'12 and GECCO'12 Conferences.
   
• Jul 27 2011: From November 1st 2010 up to this date, I worked as a post-doc at the Chair "Optimisation for Sustainable Development" (OSD), at LIX - Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France.
   
• Dec 22 2010: I defended my Ph.D. thesis at Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France. The jury was composed by: Gusz Eiben, Youssef Hamadi, Yannis Manoussakis, Marc Schoenauer, Michele Sebag, Thomas Stuetzle, and Dirk Thierens. Thank you all! :-)
   
• Aug 16 2010: From mid-July to mid-August I visited the research team of Holger Hoos at the Computer Science department of the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver/Canada.
   
• May 31 2010: The paper "Adaptive Strategy Selection in Differential Evolution", co-authored with colleagues from the China University of Geosciences, was nominated as a candidate for the Best Paper Award of the GECCO'10 ES/EP track.
   
• Sep 04 2009: The poster presenting my on-going Ph.D. work was voted as the 2nd best by the attendees of the SLS'09 Doctoral Symposium.
   
• Jan 18 2009: Our paper on Adaptive Operator Selection got the Best Paper Award at the LION'09 Conference.
